Sick Baby

Have you ever heard that when you have a child, it's like having your heart walk around outside your body?

Lucas has RSV, or bronchiolitis. Mucus in his lungs. He is coughing and congested. Can't breathe. Getting an ear infection as a complication. Refuses to nurse so we have to squirt milk into his mouth with a syringe. We're using a nebulizer for half an hour every four hours.

I miss my baby. I haven't nursed him in three days. He is extremely fussy because he is so miserable.

And because he is miserable, I feel like my heart is broken.

While I was typing this, I heard a knock at the door. I have the best friends ever. I found a care package on the doorstep. Tears.

Thank you, thank you, thank you....

Hosting a Baby Shower

My dear friend Cindy is having a baby. A baby boy.

So my dear friend Carly and I threw her a shower.

So fun!

Fabulous food:
I had a lot of fun making the cupcakes and the punch is blue Hawaiian Punch with Sprite and pineapple sherbet.
And I tried my hand at making a diaper cake:
I'm pretty excited about how it turned out!

Shamu

Every time we went to Sea World this year there was a huge crowd at the Shamu shows. So every time we said, "We'll come back and see it another time."

There is no way we can let our season passes expire and never see Shamu. So we bundled Lucas up and went to see the Christmas show.
Lucas slept nice and warm on Ben's chest while we enjoyed a hot funnel cake.
Shamu did not disappoint. It was a great show. What gorgeous creatures!
