My how this boy has grown!

At his twelve-month check-up with the pediatrician,
weight: 18 lb 4 oz (less than 3rd percentile)
height: 29.25 in (25th percentile)
head circumference: 17.8 in (15th percentile)
The doctor is a little concerned about his weight, but we have a plan to help him gain weight.

Surprise Shower
I have a best friend. She's having a baby. But her baby tried to come 8 weeks early. So now she's in the hospital on bed-rest, trying to get him to cook a little longer.
Since she can't come to a shower, we brought the shower to her. The whole thing was her sweet husband's idea. You can tell he loves her a lot.
He talked to the nurses and got permission from her doctor, then put me in charge of the rest. I gathered some friends, who all responded with amazing enthusiasm and we pulled together one of the best baby showers of all time. The nurses let us use a small sitting room in the hospital wing with huge windows and lots of natural light (just what Katy needed). Everyone contributed some sort of food or decoration and it was perfect!
I had a lot of fun making another diaper cake. I really like how this one turned out. The folded up socks and mittens almost look like flowers:
I have been so impressed with Katy's strength and courage in enduring this trial. She looks at the positives and is constantly saying how blessed she is. I feel so blessed to be her friend and I am so glad Micah gave me this opportunity to show Katy how much I love her. I will be praying for her and Baby during the upcoming C-section and the ensuing weeks in the NICU.

head circumference: 17.5 in
He is in the 25th percentile for all three.
